
Samantha Williams
NIH Dental & Oral Research Summer (DORS) Scholar
Samantha Williams is a first-year Dental Student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a recent graduate of Spelman College. Samantha plans to pursue dentistry and dental research to discover innovative treatment methods for craniofacial disorders. In pursuit of her research goals, she studied collagen IX in the periodontal ligament at Texas A&M School of Dentistry and apoptosis in Leishmaniasis parasites at Morehouse College. Additionally, Samantha completed Spelman’s Data Science Summer Program studying sleep differences in numerous sex chromosomes. Samantha did an internship in the Baker Lab in Summer 2024 through the NIH-Sponsored Dental & Oral Research Summer (DORS) Program.
